Shady is a Lebanese hairdresser and a barbershop owner. He has been living in Germany for 19 years and works in proximity to Sonnenallee. Shady’s daily encounters and experiences with different Arab migrants remain estranged despite the shared struggles of migration and the particularities of life in Berlin. Episode 5 of the podcast discusses the notion of the Arab-Other and the limits of negotiating common grounds for diverse histories and identifications.
