Attachment is a word used by psychologists to describe the relationship between children and their caretakers, who is usually their mother. It is a relationship that grows with the virtue of hope which we discussed in episode 2. Hope that my mother is always there to hug me, comfort me, and tell me it’s ok when I fall and cry in pain. It’s the faith the child has in knowing that his secure base in life is there for him and will never let him down. In this episode, we will cover Bowlby’s definition of secure attachment and its different stages.
